About the Project:  This book cover redesign was done as part of an assignment for Digital Layout & Design at Kansas Wesleyan University.  We were given the task of choosing a book cover that we wanted to redesign, but were given the restrictions of only using the pen and fill tools for the creation of our graphics. We were also limited to using four different colors in the design as well.

There are many different book cover designs for A Clockwork Orange already available, and this is my take on it, choosing to focus primarily on Alex (the main character of the book) for my graphics.  I chose to include the droog hat and a reinvention of his famous stare.

Software Used: Adobe InDesign CS3.

Recognition:
I have recently partnered with Olympia Le-Tan, David Higham Associates and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation. Olympia Le-Tan wanted to use my reimagined design and embroider the artwork onto their high-end French fashion brand handbags. They have had licensing deals with companies like The New Yorker, Disney, Pac Man and Mattel and their bags have been worn by celebrities such as Milly Bobby Brown, Emma Watson, Natalie Portman, etc. Handbag sales began in 2021 and can be found sold on OLT’s website here. This piece was also showcased as one of the thirty coolest alternative book covers on Britain’s ShortList magazine website.  You can view the rest of the article here.
